Rephazer
Electronic musician and sound designer based in the Netherlands. Rephazer makes nostalgic, melancholic IDM and ambient music — lush tape-worn soundscapes shaped by classical music and instruments as well as shortwave radio, vintage synths, romplers, classic electronica and the warmth of analog tape.
Albums and EPs including Broadcasts from Beyond, Fragments and Nature’s Religion are released on Bandcamp and labels such as Kahvi Collective. Much of the music is performed on hardware and shared through performances on YouTube.
Alongside music, Rephazer designs professional multi-sample sound packs for the Synthstrom Audible Deluge, Teenage Engineering OP-1 (Field), OP-XY and Elektron Tonverk, as well as patches, presets and samples for other hardware & software synthesizers, samplers and grooveboxes. Every Rephazer patch or preset is built from years of personal sampling and experience.
His work has also been noticed by Teenage Engineering and Kiviak Instruments. Teenage Engineering reached out to work with Rephazer on sampled factory presets for the OP-XY, and he also contributed additional patch/preset/sample design for Kiviak Instruments.
